Kate has been working at Garlick & Markison since becoming a licensed Patent Agent in 2015. She received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University in 2013 and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University in 2015 where she was a National Science Foundation Fellow.
Before joining Garlick & Markison, Kate worked professionally as an engineer and software developer on projects ranging from big data systems, avionics, unmanned vehicles, mobile application development, embedded systems, machine learning applications, and network security.
Kate has been awarded over three dozen U.S. patents as an inventor, the earliest at age 10. Kate works to cultivate the next generation of inventors through her passion for educational outreach through volunteer teaching and mentoring programs that foster STEM, the arts, and creativity for K-12 students.
